The Philadelphia Contributionship for the Insurance of Houses from Loss by Fire was founded by Benjamin Franklin and his fellow firefighters to provide fire insurance to homeowners in Philadelphia and the surrounding region. The company issued its first policies in 1752. Although our policies have changed to meet the needs of the modern market our goals remain the same. We are still committed to writing urban risks, which we define as row homes, flat roofs, older-aged and low-valued or multi-family residences, while focusing on suburban and higher value homes as well.
We provide homeowners, fire and liability insurance to customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
“I enjoy the work that I do and the people I work with.”
“I feel I am given respect to handle my job without micromanaging. I like that they want to invest in their employees to help us all become more skilled at our jobs. ”
“The Contributionship is always working to improve the business and approving educational courses for the employees.”
“Sense of history; great benefits package; great manager.”
